Backyard Life

I found myself wound up sitting at my computer....
I needed a quick fix....

Snagged my camera and headed outside....
My own backyard was full of fun....

Here's what I found....

This sunflower was planted by one of our neighborhood birds or squirrels

My dogs love the sticks that fall from the Sycamore after summer wind storms

SOBER

This blog post is dedicated to one of my favorite people.
If you haven't check out her blog 'Many Adventures of Sarahplease do. She'll keep you on your toes!

Sober has been a wonderful friend for the past 6-7 years. Her love and support has given me drive to do better at everything I do. Even though she is 6 years younger than me, I look up to her and respect her fully. One of my favorite things about Sober are the goals that she makes, small and large. Less than a year ago Sober brought up her interests in moving to Germany for a year. Well, this morning she boarded the plane to do just that. I'm going to miss my friend but at the same time I'm so proud that she is 'Making it Happen'!

Here are a few photographs I made of Sober this past year after finding out she loves being in front of the camera.

Thank you Sober for all of the good times! Be safe and have fun. See you in Amsterdam, June 2011!

Family Eyes!

I have come to the conclusion that I will not be having a child out of my body. For many reasons this is an absolute fact. One reason being I am blessed as the aunt of three beautiful children created by my sister and brother-in-law. I feel like the genes I share with my sister also run through my niece and nephew and there is no need for more... My parenthood will consist of ideally two adopted children. One made in my partner's belly and one created by someone else in the US who is not in a place to raise a child but will bless us with the most amazing responsibility. My true belief is that family, human connection and love is what you make of it.

Nurture
Environment
Teaching
Learning
Being

I take great pride in family, immediate and distant. It is a treat to have three children close to me who do share a few genes. It's fun to watch them grow, see the physical family resemblances and differences. Here is an example of family resemblance.

It's all in the eyes!

Macro Dogs!

My dogs are my life.
That I do not hide.
I know them, they know me.
Photographs I have made of them run in the thousands.
First time random macro shoot was a kick in the pants!
